Oda Nomunari 2010 Mens Figure Skating Preview

The most brilliant men’s skating performance of the last ten years was given by this skater at the ISU Grand Prix event in 2009. The darling Charlie Chaplin routine charmed audiences and showcased to advantage the skater’s small build. This dynamo appearance made headlines the world over. Oda Nomunari is a Japanese figure skating champion. The silver medalist in the Japanese 2009-2010 men’s figure skating competition.

The pantomime and execution artistically at this level has not been matched by Plushenko or Lysacek. Whereas Plushenko and Joubert (and even Weir) have a “salesmanship” about their skating that rubs the wrong way, Nomunari’s performance showcased the best of figure skating. If Oda Nomunari displays this virtuosity in Vancouver, then medal hopes are at stake.

Vancouver Olympics Placement Estimation:
If Plushenko doesn’t bring any special new choreography to Vancouver, and the crowd has no other spectacle. Lim’s could be the routine of the Vancouver Games. If Nomunari can execute triple jumps and introduce enough freshness to the comical routine, the gold is his.

Dream Routine: A Samurai performance where he whips and slashes through the music.
